Reminder: 2019 Is Coming!

How Do I Know This?

This morning, I received a notification that my 2019 Journal has shipped. That is how I know this.

A. I have to figure out how I will set this Journal up for the best possible results in 2019. I'm not satisfied with the current setup.

1. The paper I currently use is desk sized (8" X 11")
*That gives me tons of room if I use one page / day. This is also true if I choose to use one spread per week, which I am considering. The new Journal will not support a weekly spread, I think. It is too small. I am learning that I can write better with a larger "font" in my handwriting. I could use small caps for the Journal, but I'm not sure that would be consistent as I am getting kind of serious about my cursive writing.
   * I do not currently have a 5" X 7" paper to practice on.
   * I cannot yet see the format of the spreads in my mind. I have watched so many videos that leave me thinking that everyone who begins a handwritten Journal fails, but purchases lots of art crafts for their journal.
   *  For me, it isn't how it looks nearly so much as how it works to the intended purpose! If my Journal is not effective and efficient to the organization of my life, I have blown a lot of dollars!
   *  My Lord! These folks have created businesses selling Journal supplies because they bought a Journal, and had so much fun setting it up with really nice, cute artwork--but the pages run blank in a month! Meanwhile, YouTube/Social Media has blown their Journals so much out of focus, they can't even see the things they need to do! (End of rant)

2. I found, and purchased a copy of Michael Sull's book, and will be picking it up this week.
The goal is to make this volume a central part of my elective study throughout 2019. How much time can I willingly commit to this goal?

3. I am putting a moratorium on spending dollars in 2019. What I have I must use. But I must use it to the greatest possible benefit. Time and energy. Sheesh. How do I set that up in a new Journal. I want to hit the ground running!

4. I will be calm, cool and collected now. I've had my meltdown. I will also review my notes from having experienced "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. I found a YouTube video discussing his book. It's kind of funny that this is a necessary resource for Brian Goulet.

Do you ever go through this? How do you get your journal to reflect your life?
How do you get your journal to be the submissive partner in this particular journey?
What does success look like, and how do you know when you achieve it?

My Journal will be not only a reflection of the life I am grateful to live in 2019. It must help me live the best life I possibly can. I'm counting on that. I hope it is not a goal too far. I am completely committed to this activity for the entire year. I will let you know how it goes.

I'm excited!!

Writing is FUN!

So, We Begin!

December 23, 2018 As 2018 ends, my hand writing journey begins. I am excited about that. I am slowing increasing the amount of time and words I am hand writing every day. While not quite ready yet, Christmas is coming! Today I received my first " very own " fountain pen from my preferred seller . It is a beginner's fountain pen, to be sure. That does not mean, however that it has neither style nor quality. This fountain pen has plenty of both! I purchased (closeout) a Nemostine Singularity fountain pen . Click the link for pictures and the MSRP for this pen. I did not pay this price for this pen.  My preferred retailer has them (as of this writing) on a closeout special. If this instrument interests you, I would highly suggest you hurry on over now .  Their closeout specials have a history of closing out quickly. (They truly mean what they say!) Tell them I sent you. Don't worry, they will still fulfill your order with the highest superior customer service exce...
